Use Knowhere to study, not to cheat, scrape, or break things. AI-generated content is a study aid, not gospel — check important things against your official school materials. Your subscription starts with a 7-day free trial, then renews until cancelled; Australian Consumer Law rights always apply. We're not affiliated with any curriculum or assessment authority. Be decent.
01Agreement
These Terms are a contract between you and Gigantor Studios Pty Ltd (ABN 86 161 340 790), trading as knowhere labs ("Knowhere", "we", "us"). By creating an account or using the service, you agree to them. If you're a parent creating an account for your student, you agree on your own behalf and confirm you're authorised to set up their invite.
02Eligibility and accounts
- Knowhere is designed for senior secondary (Years 11–12) students in Australia and their parents/guardians. Teachers can join our waitlist and pilot; the teacher experience will have its own terms when it launches.
- Users under 15 need a parent or guardian to create their account.
- Keep your password secret and your account details accurate. You're responsible for activity on your account.
- One human per account. No sharing logins.
03Parent and student accounts
Parent accounts can view a limited progress summary of their linked student as described in our Privacy Policy (effort and progress — never answers or mistakes). Parents may manage billing, including subscription plans, for linked students.
04Free trial, subscriptions, billing and refunds
- Free trial: new accounts start with a 7-day free trial. A payment card is required at signup, but you won't be charged during the trial. If you cancel before the trial ends, you pay nothing. If you don't cancel, your first billing period starts automatically when the trial ends. One trial per person.
- Paid plans are billed in advance, monthly or yearly as chosen at checkout, via Stripe, and renew automatically until cancelled. We'll email you before your trial ends and before each yearly renewal.
- If you're under 18, a parent or guardian needs to take out the subscription.
- Cancel any time in Settings → Billing, or by emailing hello@knowhere.me. Change-of-mind refunds aren't automatic, but if something's broken or we haven't delivered, tell us and we'll fix it or refund you — on top of your Australian Consumer Law rights.
- All prices are in Australian dollars. We're not currently registered for GST, so no GST is charged; if that changes, we'll tell you before it affects a renewal.
- You can cancel anytime; access continues to the end of the paid period (or trial).
- Prices may change — we'll give at least 30 days' notice before a renewal at a new price.
Nothing in these Terms excludes your rights under the ACL, including consumer guarantees. If the service has a major problem, you're entitled to remedies under the ACL regardless of anything written here.
05AI-generated content — important
Knowhere uses artificial intelligence to generate study content, explanations, quizzes, flashcards, and custom concepts.
- AI content can be wrong. It may contain errors, omissions, or outdated information. It is a study aid, not a source of truth.
- Knowhere content is not official curriculum material. Always verify against your school's materials and your state authority's official study designs and past papers.
- We make no guarantee about academic outcomes. Using Knowhere does not guarantee any grade, study score, or ATAR. (If any app promises you an ATAR, run.)
- AI content is generated per your profile and may differ between users. That's the point.
06Not affiliated with exam authorities
Knowhere is an independent product. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to the VCAA, NESA, QCAA, SACE Board, SCSA, TASC, BSSS, or any other curriculum or assessment authority. "VCE", "HSC" and similar terms are trademarks of their respective owners and are used only to describe the curriculum a subject relates to.
07Acceptable use
Don't:
- use Knowhere to cheat in any assessment, or represent AI-generated work as your own where that breaches your school's academic integrity rules;
- scrape, copy, resell, or redistribute our content or software;
- reverse engineer, probe, or disrupt the service;
- upload unlawful, harmful, or infringing content;
- use the service if you've been banned.
We may suspend or terminate accounts that break these rules.
08Your content
You keep ownership of anything you create in Knowhere (e.g. notes, custom concepts you generate). You grant us a licence to store and process it to run the service. We may use de-identified, aggregated usage data to improve Knowhere.
09Our content
The Knowhere software, design, branding, and content are ours (or our licensors'). We grant you a personal, non-transferable licence to use them for your own study while you have an account. GIFs are provided via Klipy and remain their respective owners' property.
10Availability
We aim for high availability but the service is provided "as is" and may be interrupted for maintenance, updates, or reasons outside our control. We're a small team building fast — things will occasionally wobble.
11Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law (and without limiting your ACL rights):
- we exclude liability for indirect or consequential loss (including exam results, lost opportunity, or data loss beyond our reasonable control);
- our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or AUD $100 if you haven't made any payment to us (for example, during a free trial);
- where liability can't be excluded but can be limited, it's limited to re-supplying the service or refunding the affected fees.
12Termination
You can close your account anytime (see the Privacy Policy for what happens to your data). We can suspend or terminate accounts for breach of these Terms, with notice where reasonable.
13Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms. For material changes we'll give notice by email or in-app at least 14 days before they take effect. Continued use after that means acceptance.
14Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia. Disputes go to the courts of New South Wales (after we've both had a genuine crack at sorting it out directly).
